Thermal oil
filtration and
decontamination

The decontamination of thermal oil through filtration and/or the extraction of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) is a key component of our vision for optimal industrial maintenance in machine lubrication. Our equipment, technologies, and proven processes ensure fast and efficient decontamination of your thermal systems. The treatment of heat transfer fluids is carried out according to best practices and industry standards.

At LTI Group, our specialists perform decontamination work directly on your systems—without requiring any machine downtime. Whether through filtration or VOC extraction, this service restores your system’s performance, prevents premature fluid replacement, and extends the life of your equipment. You also benefit from a solution that significantly reduces costs and environmental impact compared to a full oil drain.

Filtration

During our interventions, our team performs the removal of contaminant through filtration. These contaminants are caused by the degradation of the lubricant, which leads to deposits in the piping system and reduces heat transfer efficiency.

Whether referred to as “thermal oil filtration” or “heat transfer fluid cleaning,” the outcome is the same: a cleaner thermal fluid. The removal of sludge and varnish extends the useful life of the oil. In fact, filtration and treatment of thermal fluids allow for longer intervals between oil changes without compromising productivity. A single millimeter of varnish on internal surfaces can cause up to a 40% drop in thermal efficiency—an energy performance loss no company wants to face.

Distillation

Our team also performs the removal of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) through a specialized distillation process. These compounds are responsible for lowering the flash point and fire point of the fluid.

Using proven distillation technology, we can simultaneously filter the thermal oil and remove VOCs in a single service visit. The distillation process evaporates the VOCs present in the fluid, condenses them back into liquid form, and allows for their safe and compliant disposal.

Why opt for thermal oil decontamination?

Like hydraulic oil filtration, thermal oil decontamination offers many benefits for industrial businesses. It improves system performance while reducing oil purchases and production interruptions.

1. Extend fluid life

Filtration removes oxidation residues, sludge, and particles that speed up thermal oil degradation.
VOCs increase fire risk and contribute to cavitation damage in pumps. Lower VOC levels improve safety and extend equipment life.

Filtration and/or VOC extraction is significantly more cost-effective than a complete fluid replacement and helps reduce industrial waste production.

Clean fluids allow for better heat transfer and improved energy efficiency.
Fluid restoration reduces the risk of overheating and blockages in piping, heat exchangers, and coils.
Decontaminated fluid helps prevent residue buildup and mechanical damage.

With LTI Group’s mobile service, thermal oil filtration is done without shutting down production. No need to cool the system—our filtration technology handles it all.
